About neuraspeak

neuraspeak explains brain-computer interfaces for people who need to understand them without a neuroscience degree: founders, investors, journalists, clinicians, and the families of people who might one day use one.

What we cover

The site covers brain-computer interfaces, with a focus on speech and communication neuroprostheses, the implants and algorithms that turn neural activity into words.

There are three kinds of pages. The wire lists headlines from established publishers, with the source and date, and every link goes to the original article; neuraspeak does not rewrite or summarise their reporting. The glossary defines the terms that appear in every paper and press release. Explainers describe how the technology works, drawing on peer-reviewed papers and regulator documents.

How we work

Every figure, date and claim is tied to a primary source listed at the bottom of the page, usually a peer-reviewed paper, an FDA document, a clinical trial listing or the company's own statement. When a number cannot be verified it is left out rather than estimated. Pages carry the date they were last updated, and corrections are made in place.

neuraspeak is independent. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or invested in any company it covers, and it does not run advertising.

Editorial standards

Statements of fact come from public primary sources: peer-reviewed papers, FDA documents, clinical trial registrations, company announcements and reporting by established outlets, each listed at the bottom of the page. Where sources disagree we say so. Where a figure is not public we write undisclosed rather than estimate.

We do not publish opinion, commentary, rankings or predictions. We do not publish rumors, anonymous claims or allegations about individuals. We do not use company logos or press images. Summaries of other publishers' work are written in our own words with a link to the original; quotations are short and attributed.

Corrections

If a company, researcher or reader believes something on this site is inaccurate, send it through the form below or the <a href="/corrections/" class="underline">corrections page</a>. We review every request, correct errors in place within two working days, and record material corrections on the corrections page.

What this site is not

neuraspeak is not medical advice, and nothing here should guide a decision about a clinical trial, a device or a treatment; talk to a clinician and the trial team. It is not investment advice and makes no claim about any company's prospects or value. It is not legal or regulatory advice. Company and product names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify them.

Who writes it

neuraspeak is written and edited by a small independent team with a background in software engineering and EEG and neurofeedback tooling, which is where the interest in how brain signals become usable data began. The site is not run by, funded by, or advised by any BCI company, lab or investor.
